It took 1.44 Billion U.S. Dollars to Build Haiti, HAiti.....


NEW YORK- The United Nations announced a funding request for U.S. $ 1.44 billion, or around Rp 13.5 trillion to help the three million citizens of Haitian victims of the earthquake.Number of records according to UN humanitarian fund is the largest amount in history needed to handle situations of natural disaster.

Previously, the largest funding request that the UN was never announced a 1.41 billion dollars during the handling of the tsunami disaster in 2005 that hit the Indian Ocean region, especially the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.Request worth 1.44 million U.S. dollars were specifically reported by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York.

In launching the application, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary-General Ban United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, John Holmes, and Haiti's Ambassador to the United Nations, Leo Merores.

Approximately one month after an earthquake measuring 7 SR destroy Haiti, especially the capital city of Port-au-Prince, some 1.2 million people require immediate shelter and sanitation. In addition, at least 2 million people need food aid.

UN expresses, the expected funding will come from various parties in the world that will be used to assist the rebuilding of Haiti in various sectors, including emergency shelter, health, nutrition, agriculture, and education.

The funds collected will also be used for programs that run the United Nations in creating jobs for the citizens of Haiti.
Currently the UN every day, employs 75,000 people to rebuild the region and country.

"By paying the Haitian citizens who work, that means we save money in their own hands to feed the family, build the economy, and creating a social security network," said Ban Ki-moon.
